The Illini Equestrians informational meeting will be held on Thursday, August 24th at 6pm in Mumford Hall room 103. We look forward to seeing you all there! We would like to congratulate our two english team riders, sophomore Sydney Freidman and alumnus Kristina Slaby (BSLAS ’20, MSM ’21), who qualified for and competed at Zones at Texas Tech this past weekend! Sydney rode beautifully and placed 7th in Intermediate Flat amongst very good company. Kristina represented us in Alumni Fences and Flat and brought home Reserve Champion in both classes, qualifying her for Nationals! We are so proud of you both!

We are having our last fundraiser of the year: Krispy Kreme! We will have pre-order pickup and limited day-of sales on the quad in front of the union on Wednesday, April 20th, from 11am-4pm. The pre-order form will close on Friday, April 15th, at 5:00pm, see link below. We are offering original glazed for $10/dozen, chocolate frosted for $12/dozen, cream filled original glazed for $12/dozen, and a digital dozen voucher for $10 for those not on campus. The digital dozen voucher is redeemable at any Krispy Kreme location, at any time convenient to you, for a dozen of original glazed donuts. For those unable to make it to pick-up, we are offering delivery within the Champaign-Urbana area for an extra $2 on the evening of the 20th. If neither of these times work, please reach out to us so we can arrange a pick-up time and location. During pick-up on the 20th, we will also be selling limited quantities of the dozens listed above at their listed prices as well as individual donuts. A single original glazed donut will be available for $1 and a single chocolate frosted or cream filled glazed will be available for $2. Our spooky October monthly club meeting is always a favorite for our members, known to many as our walking skeletons meeting! Thanks to Debra Hagstrom for helping us organize and put on this fun event, Dr. Wheeler for judging the best anatomy category, and Cheyenne Summers for supplying the horses! We took our annual trip to Curtis Orchard and Pumpkin Patch a few weekends ago! The weather was perfect and it was great to get off campus and into the fall spirit!
Our western show team had their first show of the season a few weekends ago! Everyone had great rides and we are so excited to be showing again! Shout out to our vice president Peyton Arnett for getting a first place!
We had our first monthly meeting of the year last month, which was our first in-person meeting in well over a year and a half! Thank you to everyone who came out and to our wonderful vice president who put together a great talk about trailering and trailer safety, though I personally loved the Kahoot game and prizes after!
